Description

Two icons of the Made in Italy tradition come together to celebrate the beauty of the Italian coffee ritual. Introducing the Bialetti Dolce&Gabbana Moka Induction, an innovative coffee maker designed for induction hobs. Thanks to its bi-layer boiler technology, this product delivers high performance: an outer steel layer makes it suitable for use on induction hobs, while an inner aluminium layer ensures even heat distribution.

The Moka Induction, enhanced by the unmistakable energy of the Dolce&Gabbana Leo print, brings together iconic design and Italian creativity in a special edition with a bold, contemporary character, in which the iconic animal print motif envelops the surface with strong expressive impact. It transforms the coffee ritual into an everyday gesture of style, passion and Italian excellence. Each Moka Induction is unique: the placement of the leopard print on the collector varies from piece to piece.

Features

Stovetop Espresso - Easily make rich stovetop espresso at home.

Bi-layer boiler - A 3.5 mm bi-layer boiler, with a steel exterior for induction and an aluminium interior for even heat distribution. Made in Italy.

Heat-resistant handle & lid knob - Soft-touch PA66 handle and knob, so you can prepare your morning coffee without worrying about burns.

Easy-clean safety valve - Easy to clean and keep in good working order.

Full compatibility - The Moka Induction is compatible with induction, gas and electric hobs.

How to use

1. First, fill the base with water up to the level of the safety valve. Do not go above the valve.

2. Weigh out and grind your beans; we recommend using a 10:1 ratio of water in the base to coffee, i.e. for 190ml of water, weigh 19 grams of coffee. Optionally, for simplicity and ease of use, you can fill up the filter basket and use that as a measurement for your beans.

3. Grind your coffee beans finer than filter coffee and coarser than espresso.

4. When placing the grounds into the basket, do not tamp or flatten them, but rather tap the basket to even out and settle the grounds. You can distribute the grounds with a distribution tool if you wish.

5. Place the filter basket into the base and connect the top brew chamber to the base.

6. Place the Moka Induction on medium to low heat; it should take 3-5 minutes to brew. On a gas flame, keep the flame within the base of the pot. On induction, electric or ceramic hobs, don't use the maximum setting.

7. As it brews, keep a good eye on it with the lid open. As it gets hotter, the Moka Induction will reach a point where the coffee starts to sputter out more aggressively instead of pouring steadily. This will make your coffee bitter, so pull it off the heat as you see this happen.

8. Pour into your cup and enjoy!

Advanced Tips

1. When grinding, the lighter your roast, the finer you will need to grind the coffee to get a good extraction.

2. Add an Aeropress paper filter to the ground coffee before connecting the base and brewing chamber. This will provide a better extraction and a cleaner cup with fewer ground particles.

3. You can experiment with different water levels. If you use a darker roast, you might fill the boiler only 3/4 full; with a lighter roast, you may want as much water as possible to extract the flavours properly. This technique aims to get as much water as possible through the coffee before it spatters.

How to Clean

Rinse the Moka Induction with warm water only after each use, without detergents or abrasive materials, and dry it thoroughly. Do not place it in the dishwasher: this may damage it and alter the taste of the coffee.
