Stocking a vending machine or coffee station

Vending hot chocolate: Original or Premium

Both Arkadia vending chocolates come in 750g bags and are made for gravity and pump vending machines. Arkadia recommends a throw rate of 21g per 180mL cup, so each bag makes roughly 35 cups. Vending Chocolate Original has 6.6% cocoa powder. Vending Chocolate Premium has 10% and a creamier blend, so it suits sites where hot chocolate is a main drink rather than an extra. Arkadia is an Australian family business that has been making drinks in Victoria and Queensland since 1997.

Chai powder

Arkadia Chai Spice and Vanilla Chai come in 1kg bulk packs. Both are sweetened instant chai blends made with black tea and milk solids, so both contain milk and soy. Arkadia describes the Spice blend as boldly fragrant. The Vanilla blend adds sweet vanilla notes.

Sugar and stirrers

The raw sugar sticks come from Jasper, a Melbourne coffee roaster since 1989 and a certified B Corp. A carton holds 2,000 sticks, enough for a busy office kitchen or café counter. Add wooden stirrers so the station doesn't need teaspoons.

Buying for a business

If you stock a workplace kitchen or café regularly, apply for a business account for B2B pricing on coffee, up to 25% off RRP. Keep the machine itself running well with coffee machine cleaning products.

FAQs

How much vending hot chocolate do I use per cup?

Arkadia recommends a throw rate of 21g of powder per 180mL cup for both its Original and Premium vending chocolates, and suggests adjusting it to taste. At that rate a 750g bag makes about 35 cups. If your machine uses larger cups, or customers find the drink thin, raise the throw rate a little and check the canister setting on your machine.

What is the difference between Arkadia Vending Chocolate Original and Premium?

The main difference is cocoa content: Original has 6.6% cocoa powder and Premium has 10%. Arkadia describes Premium as an extra creamy, richer blend, and it includes vegetable fat and glucose solids that Original does not. Both come in 750g bags, are made for gravity and pump vending machines, and are Halal certified. Both contain milk.

Can I use chai powder in a vending machine?

Arkadia sells its Chai Spice and Vanilla Chai 1kg packs as café chai powders rather than as part of its vending range, and it doesn't publish a vending throw rate for them. Many powder machines can dispense chai, but flow and mixing vary by machine. Check with your machine supplier, or test a small batch before filling a canister.

Can businesses get trade pricing on vending products and sugar?

Yes. Offices, cafés and other businesses that order regularly can apply for a business account for B2B pricing on coffee, up to 25% off RRP, through our business account page. Delivery is a flat $9.95 on orders under $200 and free over $200, and orders placed by 3pm Melbourne time on a business day are dispatched the same day.
