Description

The Bialetti Moka Express is a stovetop espresso maker, perfect for brewing rich, flavourful espresso in the comfort of your home. You only need coffee, water and a stove to make a delicious espresso. Created in 1933 from a brilliant insight by Alfonso Bialetti, the Moka Express has always been an undisputed icon of Italian style.

Bialetti and Dolce&Gabbana come together to celebrate the Italian coffee ritual. The energy of the Leo motif and its bold pattern transform the Dolce&Gabbana Moka Express into a truly contemporary style accessory, where the print's striking character meets Bialetti's iconic design. The intense tones and distinctive pattern create a moka with strong visual impact, capable of reinterpreting the coffee ritual as an everyday expression of personality and taste.

This special edition celebrates the coming together of Italian tradition and the Dolce&Gabbana aesthetic language, where every detail becomes an emblem of creativity and every coffee a distinctive, timeless gesture of style. Each Moka Express is unique: the leopard print on the collector varies from piece to piece.

Features

Espresso Crema - Pressurised brewing gives you a smooth, cafe-like crema on your espresso.

High-quality materials - Made in Italy with a durable aluminium body.

Heat-resistant handle & lid knob - Thermoplastic handle and knob, so you can prepare your morning coffee without worrying about burns.

Easy-clean safety valve - Easy to clean and keep in good working order.

Stovetop compatibility - Suitable for gas, electric and ceramic hobs. For induction cooktops, use it with the Bialetti Induction Plate.

How to use

1. First, you will need to fill the base with water, filling to just below the safety valve inside.

2. Weigh out and grind your beans. We recommend a 10:1 water-to-coffee ratio in the base. Optionally, for simplicity and ease of use, you can fill up the filter basket and use that as a measurement for your beans.

3. When placing the grounds into the basket, do not tamp or flatten them, but rather tap the basket to even out and settle the grounds.

4. Place the filter basket into the base and connect the top brew chamber to the base.

5. Place the Moka on medium to low heat. Brewing should take 3-5 minutes.

6. As it brews, keep a good eye on it. As it gets hotter, the Moka will reach a phase where the coffee will sputter out more aggressively instead of steadily pouring. This will make your coffee bitter, so pull it off the heat as you see this happen.

7. Pour into your cup and enjoy!

Advanced Tips

1. When grinding, the lighter your roast, the finer you will need to grind the coffee to get a good extraction.

2. Add an AeroPress paper filter to the ground coffee before connecting the base and brewing chamber. This will provide a better extraction and a cleaner cup with fewer ground particles.

3. You can experiment with different water levels. If you use a darker roast, you might fill the boiler only 3/4 full, whereas with a lighter roast, you want as much water as you can to extract the flavours properly. This technique aims to get as much water as possible through the coffee before it spatters.

How to Clean
