Humbler is a 50/50 blend of Colombia Antioquia, which is washed, and Brazil Rio Brilhante, which is natural. The Colombian half is made up of Caturra and Castillo, while the Brazilian component brings Red Catuai and Mundo Novo. Together they give the blend its medium roast, its smooth and rich body, and a strength that sits at a comfortable 3 out of 5.

Proud Mary was founded by Nolan and Shari Hirte in Melbourne in 2009. The roaster sources high quality coffee direct from origin, builds deep relationships with farmers, and roasts and supplies coffee across Australia and the United States.
Proud Mary organises its coffees across a Mild, Curious and Wild journey. Humbler sits at the Mild end, the easygoing, comforting part of the range, while still carrying the care and direct sourcing the roaster is known for.
Part of what makes Humbler interesting is that it draws on two different processing methods. The Colombian beans are washed, where the fruit is removed before drying, a process that tends to produce a cleaner, more defined cup. The Brazilian beans are natural, dried with the fruit still on, which typically brings more body and sweetness.
Combining the two is a common way for roasters to build balance into a blend: clarity from one side, richness and sweetness from the other. In Humbler, that pairing helps explain the smooth, syrupy, chocolate-forward character you taste in the cup.
Use Humbler within 4-6 weeks of the roast date for the best flavour. We recommend a vacuum-sealed canister such as the Fellow Atmos Electric Vacuum Canister or the Airscape Coffee Storage Canister to keep it fresh by removing oxygen from the container. Store in a cool, dark place and avoid refrigeration, as condensation can compromise the beans.
