Advanced Tips

1. When grinding, the lighter your roast, the finer you will need to grind the coffee to get a good extraction. 

2. You can add an Aeropress paper filter to the ground coffee before connecting the base and brewing chamber. This will provide a better extraction and a cleaner cup with fewer ground particles. 

3. You can experiment with different water levels. If you use a darker roast, you might only fill the boiler 3/4 full, whereas, with a lighter roast, you want as much water as you can to extract the flavours from the coffee properly. This technique aims to get as much water as possible through the coffee before it starts to sputter.
