Allpress Coffee
Hot-air roasted and sold in 1 kg and 250 g bags, Allpress coffee beans are dispatched the same day by My Coffee Shop for business-day orders placed before 1:30 pm Melbourne time. Allpress was founded by Michael Allpress in Auckland, New Zealand in the late 1980s and now roasts in Australia as well, including a roastery in Zetland, Sydney.
Two blends make up our Allpress range. The Allpress Espresso Blend (1 kg) is the medium roast of the two: Brazil for body and sweetness, Colombia and Guatemala for apple-like acidity, caramel and milk chocolate, and wet-hulled Sumatra for spice and dark fruit. The A.R.T. Espresso Blend softens the acidity and leans into dark chocolate, with Brazil, Colombia and Papua New Guinea in the mix; it comes in a 1 kg bag and a 250 g bag for trying it first.
Espresso Blend or A.R.T.?
Allpress roasts with hot air rather than a traditional drum, and the company says the method gives it total control over the roast. In the cup, the Espresso Blend is the brighter and more complex of the two, good black or with milk. A.R.T. is heavier-bodied and chocolatey, so it is the easier choice if your household drinks mostly lattes or you prefer a gentler acidity. Both are 100% Arabica whole beans.
Delivery is free on orders over $200 within Australia, otherwise a flat $9.95, and both blends can be collected from our Abbotsford showroom. Compare them against other roasters in our coffee beans collection.
