The Bialetti Brikka Moka pot is a unique stovetop coffee maker that makes rich espresso with crema, allowing you to easily prepare and enjoy authentic espresso at home.
The Brikka features a dual-valve system that regulates the pressure of water flowing through the coffee grounds for a more consistent and richer-tasting coffee. Notably, its open-lid design allows air to circulate into the valve, creating the perfect crema for your ideal espresso.
Dual-valve Pressure system - Regulates water pressure for a consistent, rich coffee.
Espresso Crema - The open-lid design allows for a smooth cafe-like crema on your espresso.
High-quality materials - Boasting a durable, food-safe, aluminium alloy construction, the Brikka is sure to last.
Heat-resistant handle & lid knob - Prepare your morning coffee without worrying about burns.
Dual compatibility - The Brikka is compatible with both gas and electric stovetops.
Size
|
Total Height (cm) | Base width (cm) | Boiler Capacity | Espresso |
2 Cups | 15.5 | 8.6 | 100ml | 60ml |
4 Cups | 20 | 10.2 | 200ml | 140ml |
1. First, you will need to fill the base with boiling water, 100ml for the 2-cup brewer and 200ml for the 4-cup brewer. The Brikka comes with a measuring cup to help you with this.
2. Weigh out and grind your beans; we recommend using a 10-1 ratio of water in the base to coffee, i.e for 200ml of water, weigh out 20 grams of coffee. Optionally, for simplicity and ease of use, you can fill up the filter basket and use that as a measurement for your beans.
3. Grind your coffee beans finer than filter coffee and courser than espresso.
4. When placing the grounds into the basket, do not tamp or flatten them, but rather tap the basket to even out and settle the grounds. You can distribute the grounds with a distribution tool if you wish.
5. Place the filter basket into the base and connect the top brew chamber to the base.
6. Place the Brikka on medium to low heat; it should take between 3-5 minutes to brew.
7. As it brews, with the lid open, keep a good eye on it. As it gets hotter, the Brikka will reach a phase where instead of steadily pouring, the coffee will start to sputter out more aggressively. This will make your coffee bitter, so make sure to pull it off the heat as you see this begin to happen.
8. Pour into your cup and enjoy!
1. When grinding, the lighter your roast, the finer you will need to grind to coffee to get a good extraction.
2. You can add an Aeropress paper filter on top of the ground coffee before connecting the base and brewing chamber to provide better extraction and a cleaner cup with fewer ground particles.
3. You can experiment with different water levels. If you use a darker roast, you might only fill the boiler 3/4 full, whereas, with a lighter roast, you want as much water as possible to extract the flavours from the coffee properly. This technique aims to get as much water as possible through the coffee before it starts to sputter.
Once your coffee is made, keeping the Brikka clean is as simple as washing it with soap & water and drying it thoroughly.
We are closed until the Jan 6th. All orders will be shipped on this date.
