Description

The Profitec Pro 500 PID espresso machine is a heat exchange model designed and manufactured by Profitec in Germany. The latest version features an updated PID display on the machine's front. The display allows you to monitor the boiler temperature and provides a shot timer for tracking your espresso pour. Additionally, you can customize settings such as the programmable eco mode and backflush reminders.

The Pro 500 has a 2.1-litre stainless steel boiler, an Ulka EX5 vibration pump, and the renowned E61 group head. You can adjust the steam pressure up to 1.8 BAR, creating perfectly silky milk. The re-calibrated heat exchanger ensures that brew water is maintained at an ideal temperature of 93 degrees Celsius. This combination results in strong steam pressure while preserving the optimal brewing temperature.

The Pro 500, operating from a built-in 3-litre water tank, brews excellent espresso and steams milk simultaneously, making it an ideal compact semi-commercial machine for home use or small offices.

PID temperature control

E61 Group head

The E61 group head is made from 4kg of chrome-plated brass. It provides excellent thermal stability, which is vital for great espresso. The E61 passive pre-infusion system gently infuses your ground coffee with hot water at a lower pressure, allowing the coffee to expand uniformly in the basket for superior extraction.

Flow Control

The flow control option enables you to adjust the water flow in your brew group to manually profile your extractions. This customised component is a stainless steel needle valve that allows the user to vary the amount of water passing through the group to facilitate prolonged pre-infusion for more even saturation and extraction of your espresso.
