The Three Brewing Modes

Mode 1: Auto Timer

Best for pour-over coffee.

How it works:

1. Place your dripper and vessel on the scale
2. Press tare to zero
3. Add coffee grounds
4. Press tare again
5. Begin pouring — the timer starts automatically when water hits the grounds
6. The flow bar shows your pouring speed in real-time

Mode 2: Coffee-to-Water Ratio

Best for dialling in your brew recipe.

How it works:

1. Place your dripper and vessel on the scale
2. Press tare to zero
3. Add coffee grounds — the scale records this weight
4. Press tare
5. Pour water — the display shows both water weight and the live ratio
6. Aim for your target ratio (e.g., 1:15 or 1:16)

Mode 3: Espresso

Best for espresso extraction.

How it works:

1. Place your cup on the scale
2. Press tare to zero
3. Start your shot — the timer begins automatically when the espresso starts flowing
4. Monitor your yield weight and extraction time
5. Stop when you hit your target (e.g., 36g in 25-30 seconds)

Understanding the Flow Bar

The LED Flow Bar runs along the edge of the scale and provides visual feedback on your pour rate:

• Few lights — Slow pour rate
• More lights — Faster pour rate
